The Prayer
"Lord watch me through it all,
and live -- through me --
these moments
the ecstasy and delirium --
let them counter the suffering
unleashed upon your face
by those who've lost
sight of your miraculous infinity:
God,
Help me heal you!"
The prayer was always the same and murmured in a relaxed cadence; always a companion during hard moments. One of us asked why and how that prayer came to be.
"It happened when I encountered God, again;
And, wouldn’t you know it,
the thing was as it always had been:
infinite!
Omnipresent and Omnipotent!
The infinite manifold upon which everything exists,
forever and ever!
Amen!"
When did you reencounter God?
"It was during a hike, much like this one, an icy one where I wore spikes that jingled and scared away the magpies and deer along the trail.
God manifested itself through a thought that gripped me, a sudden fascination with the meaning of 'seeing the forest for the trees…' two whirlpools are not two whirlpools, i thought, but merely water – a field – expressing itself more excitedly in those tiny regions... So too, everything!
planets, galaxies, universes, all of them, from the small to the gargantuan, they were suddenly discrete clumps of vibrations, tight bundles, upon an unseen and infinite field, forever and ever, amen: the infinite field being, in this case, God.
God had no materials or tools to make everything that exists!
It used itself: dimensions within it appear as substrates upon which everything visible or invisible is built.
God is all!
the container,
the observer
and the doer
It's your duty to heal it:
As a small godly region,
Your duty is to reduce harm within yourself,
until you can begin to reduce harm in others,
and continue this process
until a virtuous cycle grips your life
for the rest of your days."
That process, he says, is how we heal ourselves,
and how we heal a bit of God itself.
Contained within it,
We're godly beings that can heal it all by healing ourselves.
